Azalea BLOOM Days
The Azalea BLOOM Days (known as the Azalea Sweep in the past) is one of our largest volunteer-driven events that takes place a week before the Festival. Community volunteers join together to “spring clean” downtown before all of our guests arrive. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt and after the Azalea BLOOM Days, all of the volunteers enjoy lunch at a volunteer appreciation luncheon.
The 2027 Azalea Sweep will be held Saturday, March 29th 2025. The deadline for team sign ups will be February 14th.
What does AFYC do?
AFYC supports the North Carolina Azalea Festival year-round by volunteering and fundraising. While AFYC members are busy volunteering during Festival week in April, they also get to take time to attend the Queen’s Coronation as special guests, hangout at the Concerts, and have way more behind-the-scenes fun than anyone else (well, maybe we’re biased).
